The Black Angels Coming to the Old Rock House

Friday, April 22, is shaping up to be one full of hard choices for live-music fans. Rural Alberta Advantage is at the Firebird, the Joy Formidable/the Lonely Forest is at the Luminary Center for the Arts -- and now the Old Rock House is weighing in with a show by the Black Angels. (Suuns is opening.) The Austin band hasn't been to town in awhile, although they were regulars a few years ago (or so it seemed). Last year, the band released the fine album Phophene Dream, like before a mix of woozy shoegaze, Texas-fried psych-rock and '60s pop jangle.
