The Blackout Pact

$8 to $10. 314-621-9333.

Originally discovered at a Manhattan hot-dog joint by Thursday singer Geoff Rickly in 2004, the Blackout Pact were literally saved from oblivion when Rickly agreed to produce the band's 2005 debut, Hello Sailor. Although the rampant tales of nakedness, homelessness and debauchery surrounding the band make it seem like they could self-destruct at any moment, when TBOP hit the stage they perform as if their lives depended on it. Driven by incredibly catchy tracks such as "We Drink So You Don't Have To" and "You Punch Me, I Punch You," the band's pop-punk stylings recall a more accessible version of Leatherface or Hot Water Music. Trust us, this summer's Warped Tour has no idea what it's gotten itself into.
