The Final Countdown featuring DJ Mike the 2600 King

Tuesday, November 2; the Rocket Bar

As election fever swells, you're either seeing red or feeling blue. No matter what happens on November 2, a stiff drink will be in order. Perhaps the returns will call for a celebratory round of shots or, if things swing away, a conciliatory pitcher or two.

If you plan on commiserating should W. prevail or celebrating if the best man wins, the place to do it this Tuesday is the Rocket Bar. The St. Louis chapter of the League of Pissed Off Voters will be throwing down during The Final Countdown, a presidential returns party punctuated by beats and percentage points, as the DJs spin and the numbers slowly make their way in. Headlining the event is DJ Mike the 2600 King of the Litterthugz crew, who is rumored to be spinning on four (count them, four) tables, something that hasn't happened since the last time there was a Dem in office. His election soundtrack will mix old school hip-hop, deep funk and jazz, and will be complemented by the local talents of DJ Espi, DJ Trackstar and DJ Anisto. The crowd might be partisan, but the music is sure to move you regardless of political conviction. Win or lose, by the end of the night the only party lines you'll find around these parts certainly won't be red or blue.
