The Magnetic Fields, led by the enigmatic Stephin Merritt, just announced a November 14 show at the Sheldon Concert Hall (3648 Washington Boulevard). Tickets are $33 and go on sale August 11 at 10 a.m. You can purchase them by calling MetroTix at 314-534-1111 or visiting the Sheldon web site. And we'd suggest you don't wait around -- the last time the band was in St. Louis it sold out the considerably larger Pageant.

The Magnetic Fields released Love at the Bottom of the Sea in March of this year. It sees Merritt and co. return to Merge Records, the label that put out its massive magnum opus 69 Love Songs in 1999.

This tour, to date, only has six stops on it. St. Louis is the furthest west it gets. Feel special, everybody.
