All those poor Thursday shows had a run-in with a winter storm, and few made it out alive. Avenge their would-be good times by living out the glory with these shows -- there's way too much cool stuff (no pun intended) happening to skip out on account of a little bit of snow.

Brothers Lazaroff, Clockwork and Ou Où release albums, Garagefest and the St. Louis Blues Festival deliver attention-worthy line-ups, and notable touring acts like Trinidad James and Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder take to the stage. Garagefest Day 2 w/ Oil Boom, Bruiser Queen, The Girls 2021, Holy Doldrums, Sleepy & the Bedtimes, Animal Teeth @ The Heavy Anchor 8 p.m. | $6 If you missed out on day one's festivities, don't despair. Ou Où Album Release w/ Black James, Britches, Problems That Fix Themselves, Beauty Pageant @ Blank Space 8 p.m. | $5 Some of the city's crazily creative forces combine for one evening to experiment with electronic soundscapes, cheeky performance art, non-traditional video visuals and cookies. Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder @ The Sheldon 8 p.m. | $40-$45 Veteran bluegrasser Ricky Skaggs has won fourteen Grammy awards in the course of his career. Fair to say he's good at what he does. (DH) Trinidad James - Friday @ Old Rock House
Trinidad James @ Old Rock House 9 p.m. | $20-$25 On the heels of December's signing to Def Jam, the Trinidadian-born rapper makes a stop at the Old Rock House. Catch him before he blows up. (DH)

8th Annual St. Louis Blues Festival w/ Bobby Womack, Bobby Bland, Shirley Brown, Mel Waiters, Charles Wilson, TK Soul, Denise LaSalle @ Chaifetz Arena 5 p.m. | $47.50-$57.50 Going eight years strong! Get your blues on with some of the greats. (DH)
Clockwork CD Release w/ Steve Ewing @ Blueberry Hill 7:30 p.m. | $10 This young (none of the members are even old enough to drink yet) St. Charles-based pop-rock group has been getting attention from the likes of AP as of late, even though this will be the first album from the band. Impressive! (DH)
Humanoids w/ Direct Hit, Lipstick Homicide, Brick Mower, Breakmouth Annie @ Fubar 8 p.m. | $7 Punk and pop-punk fans ought to show up and pogo. This line-up includes Lipstick Homicide from Iowa, Direct Hit from Wisconsin and Brick Mower from New Jersey. Click on the links to listen. (MS)
Joan of Arc w/ Foxing, Good Luck at the Hog Slaughter @ The Demo 8 p.m. | $10/$13 Tim Kinsella of Joan of Arc performs an intimate solo set. This is also the last chance to see guitarist Tommy Pini in Foxing before he leaves the band and the first time to check out Good Luck at the Hog Slaughter, a new group featuring members of Muscle Brain, Dhat and Orion Pax. Both openers have brand new releases to grab up. (MS)
