Tin Can Tavern's Downtown Location is Now Open

The Tin Can Tavern (3157 Morganford) already serves some of the best cheese-related products in town (mmm, grilled and mac 'n'), which especially hit the spot on cold winter days. (With PBR Light, which I never even knew existed.) Of course, it also has music several nights a week as well.

As does the new downtown location of the Tin Can, at 1909 Locust (it's the old Panama Red's location), which is now open for business -- as of tonight! According to a press release I just received, it's booking live music on Friday and Saturday nights. One of the venue's first major shows is a February 23 gig by New Orleans singer John Boutte and his best pal, Paul Sanchez (formerly of Cowboy Mouth). View some video of them performing together here. Each man will have a record out this year produced by Soul Asylum's Dave Pirner.
