Getting excited yet for next weekend's An Under Cover Weekend kickoff at the Bluebird? I know I am! To whet your appetite, may I suggest heading to Off Broadway tonight for the following tribute-band bonanza? From le MySpace:
So Many Dynamos performs as "In The Garage: A Tribute To Weezer," performing the best Weezer tracks from 1994-1998. No bullshit, no "Beverly Hills," no "Pork and Beans," no "Hash Pipe" -- just the jams from when Weezer was the band that made all 4 of us want to start bands in the first place.
Target Market performs as "Gold Soundz: A Tribute to Pavement." A sneak preview of Target Market covering Pavement's "Summer Babe (Winter Version)" at their last show proves that this is going to be incredible, and it might sound more like Pavement live than Pavement did.
Having seen the Weezer tribute back in June, let me tell you that it's probably better than Weezer was back in the day -- and certainly better than Weezer now. Doors at 8, the show's 9, $6 for 21+, $8 for under 21 -- and it's all-ages.
Some vids after the jump.
