Update, 9/24/12: Your first chance to sign up for this thing will be at a "Fall Informal" at Apop Records on Saturday, October 20. Few details are available at the moment, but we have been promised "music, food, beer, record painting and more!" So look forward to that -- we'll keep you updated, obviously, but you can also follow along on the Facebook Event page.
Tower Groove Records arrived on the scene big in late 2011, born of the collaborative aspirations of some of the best, most experienced rock & rollers in the city. The label hosted a carnival at Off Broadway a year ago this month where it raised more than it would need to put out its first compilation in as ambitious a style as is possible: A double-LP on colored vinyl, out this year on Record Store Day. Context galore:

The group has been relatively quiet for the past couple months, but that ends now. In a grand tradition that includes such fertile grounds as the early days of Sub Pop, Tower Groove Records will host a singles club in 2013, except theirs will be on shiny, permanent, no-zeros-and-ones vinyl. Here's how it works: You pay a flat rate for a subscription and each month you get a new seven-inch, with one song on each side from a pair of St. Louis bands. We don't know a ton of details yet (this is damn fresh information, even if it's been in the works for quite some time), but we'll let you know how much it will cost/where you sign up/how you get your records as soon as we know it.
What we do have is the complete release schedule, and it is awesome. Featured bands include: Demon Lover, Old Lights, Doom Town, Black For a Second, Bunnygrunt, Trauma Harness, The Skekses, CaveofswordS, Tone Rodent, Kisser, Ransom Note, Nee, Maximum Effort, Shaved Women, Magic City, Jungle Fire, Peck of Dirt, Little Big Bangs, Bug Chaser, Troubadour Dali, Accelerando, Humdrum, Sleepy Kitty, Middle Class Fashion. On the following pages is the specific release calendar and a bit of a primer on the bands in the form of videos, streaming tracks and our previous coverage.
