As far as Southern garage-rock bands go, Turbo Fruits fills an almost Black Lips-size hole in the gritty ozone layer of oft-touring, antics-exploiting, low-maintenance bands with record labels almost as small as the vans they rode in on. It's a tough niche but a solid one, one that finds frontman Jonas Stein hanging from the rafters like a vampire bat about as often as he's caught singing upright and the band as a whole freaking the hell out in front of as few as seven people. Don't Be That Person: Who still hasn't recovered from Be Your Own Pet breaking up (way back in 2008). Stein does not respond politely to nostalgia for his former four-piece.
