Umphrey's McGee

A few years ago, heads buzzed with news that Umphrey's McGee was the next Phish. But this was just hot air. Though Umphrey's showed signs of greatness, the two bands had little in common beyond the "ph" in their names and great light shows. Then puberty hit, and Umphrey's songs became deeper and stronger, their jams tighter. Their six-piece sound matured into dark progressive rock, with just enough funk and psychedelic inflection to keep things from getting moody. So it seems our little jam band is all grown up -- and, as it turns out, it was well worth the wait.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15; call 314-726-6161 for more information.
