Kate Middleton and Prince William are getting married in a matter of hours (have you heard about this at all?). You can watch the Royal Wedding via webcam, but let's be honest: Weddings are boring when you're actually there. So we'll take a pass on grainy video feeds. However, we thought we'd bring this whole deal a little closer to home by asking sixteen St. Louis wedding bands to imagine themselves in England, playing the gig of a lifetime. The five questions they were responding to: -What five songs would you have to play? -Would you take requests? Do you have a general policy on this, and if you would do it differently for this wedding, why? -If they left it up to you, what would you play for the couple's first dance? -If you were told you absolutely had to get Queen Elizabeth II on the dance floor, what song would you play? -Which guest would you personally most want to sweep off his/her feet for a night of romance?
Note: If you read something you like and think one of these bands would be a good fit for your wedding, feel free to contact the bands at the address or site provided

What five songs would you have to play? "S&M" by Rihanna. Special dedication to Prince Charles and Camilla Parker "Listen to the Music" by the Doobie Brothers. This would serve as a gentle reminder to the general lack of rhythm that is sure to be displayed on the dance floor. "Roses" by Outkast. Royalty always thinks that their "shit don't stink" and we won't miss such an opportunity tell let them know it does. "Aja" by Steely Dan. HA!! The pleasure of watching the "WTF" look on their faces as they attempt to keep up with the meter changes here will be priceless. "Humpty Dance" by Digital Underground. Cause it ain't a Groovethang party till we play that one!
Would you take requests? Do you have a general policy on this, and if you would do it differently for this wedding, why? We will play ANYTHING as long as its on our song list. And if they want something else we would only charge the Royal Family 10 grand per tune.

We'll see you on the dance floor!

What five songs would you have to play? The music theme for the Royal Wedding Celebration is disco and 80's music. My top 5 dance song choices would be:
"Hungry Like a Wolf" by Duran, Duran. It's one of Prince William's favorite bands from the 80's "Let's Dance" by David Bowie, a fellow Brit. Another great dance tune from the 80's "This Will Be An Everlasting Love" by Natalie Cole. One of my favorite songs from the 70's; a great songs to dance to and a great song for celebrating love "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen. Another great song from the 80's. My band just recently learned this and it's great fun. "Stayin' Alive" by the Beegees. Always fun and this song always gets everybody on the dance floor.
Would you take requests? Do you have a general policy on this, and if you would do it differently for this wedding, why? I generally consult the client as to whether or not they would like us to take requests. In addition to this question, I ask if there are any songs they "do not" want us to play.
If they left it up to you, what you play for the couple's first dance? "Have You Ever Been In Love" - Celine Dion. One of my favorite love songs.
If you were told you absolutely had to get Queen Elizabeth II on the dance floor, what song would you play? "Dancing Queen." Wouldn't that be a sight to behold?
Which guest would you personally most want to sweep off his/her feet for a night of romance? If I could sweep any male member of the Royal family off their feet, I think I would even impress myself.

What five songs would you have to play? I'd have to play a variety of classics. This is so I can touch base everyone at the event. And I mean PLAY the songs not just clinically try to sound like the records but let you know it's alive and we're laying it down! We would smoke each and every tune.
