Tip o' the hat to loyal A to Z readers Bob and Brett, who tipped me off to the fact that Columbia's Witch's Hat -- which plays here a ton -- is breaking up. Says the MySpace blog:
as many in Columbia and St. Louis know, Witch's Hat will be moving to that big venue in the sky in August. Greg contracted the deadly motaba virus from an ice machine at work and now only has 6 months to live, so he will traveling the country completing his "bucket list". As such, We will be playing 2 more shows this summer before we call it quits. July 12th will be at the Bluebird in St. Louis and then August 8th we will say bye bye at our last show. That show will be at Mojo's in Columbia. Thanks to all who have listened and supported and given us floors to sleep on in the last 4 years. Stay tuned for more info on the new album (which we WILL still get out there, and it's FANTASTIC!) and any other fun stuff we think of.
