Australia has given the rest of the world many excellent things, including Foster's beer, INXS and Olivia Newton-John. (Technically Mel Gibson also grew up there, but we'll let that slide for now.) The latest name to add to that list of exports is the Sydney indie-pop act Youth Group. Although the quintet initially became best known in the U.S. when its dreamy cover of the '80s hit "Forever Young" became ubiquitous on The O.C. , the band members display what capable songwriters they've become in their own right on the new Casino Twilight Dogs. In fact, whether they're swaggering through the midtempo "Catching & Killing" or offering heartfelt apologies on orchestrally tinged rockers such as "Sorry," these youths are obviously growing old gracefully.
