PLUG Awards Nominees Include Several St. Louis Folks

Posted By on Tue, Nov 20, 2007 at 8:43 PM

Move over New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle and any other major metropolis: The St. Louis (and ex-Lou) music community made a fine showing when the PLUG Independent Music Award nominees were announced today. (For more information on what these awards are, go here.)

Anyway, nominees include a ton of music heavyweights -- Radiohead, Bright Eyes, Battles, Spoon, the National, etc. -- so it's quite an honor that our 'burg garnered notice. The lucky few are:

*White Rabbits, for New Artist of the Year (see what Christian Schaeffer wrote here). While based in Brooklyn, several members of White Rabbits hail from the area.

*3WK, for Online Radio Station of the Year (see Randy Roberts' profile on the station here)

*Les Aaron's New Music Sunday on the Point (105.7 FM), for Specialty Show of the Year, Commercial Radio.

*KDHX, for College/Non-Commercial Radio Station of the Year (full disclosure: I program a show there now, every Monday at noon.)

Winners will be announced March 6, 2008, in New York City.
