Kristin Hersh Personalizes Her Back Catalog -- For You!

Posted By on Wed, Feb 20, 2008 at 10:45 PM

I titled the music feature this week "Counting Backwards" -- which is a reference to one of my favorite Throwing Muses songs. The writer of that piece, Mike Appelstein, posts on his blog that TM singer Kristin Hersh is now making personalized CDs for you. All the details are here, but in case you don't want to click over:

*Download the PDF menu of almost 200 TM & KH songs.

*Choose ten songs and provide your choices (and the running order) in the comments field of the order form.

*Kristin will record your chosen songs, solo, live to tape, including an introduction: "Hi this is Kristin Hersh and this is ten for "Your Name Here"

*When the session is done, we'll burn you a printable CD and on it Kristin will hand-write, "Kristin Hersh, 10-4 'Your Name'" and the date of the recording.

*Please allow 7 - 10 days for recording and additional time for shipping.

*All placed orders will be fulfilled.

Hersh has fallen on some hard times in recent years. Even while recording several well-received solo albums (and band albums with 50 Foot Wave), the house she purchased in her adopted hometown of Cleveland flooded, rendering her effectively homeless. (Read an excellent story here.) Hersh is one of the true, piercing originals around, so go support her!
