Does It Offend You, Yeah? at the Fader Fort

Posted By on Wed, Mar 12, 2008 at 7:07 PM

American Airlines apparently lost Does It Offend You, Yeah?'s sampler in transit from England (see its MySpace bulletin), but it didn't seem to matter: The British quartet looked beyond stoked to be playing the Fader Tent/Fort, grinning and laughing the entire way through its all-too-brief set. The natural heirs to Simian Mobile Disco/Digitalism -- and frankly, what the Rapture should be but isn't -- DIOY,Y? tore through songs from its upcoming album. "We Are Rockstars" and "Let's Make Out" were highlights, but the electronic squelches, danceable beats and sloppy vocals started off my SXSW just right.
