The Pointer Sisters at Ameristar Casino, February 13

1980s soul survivors the Pointer Sisters will be the featured talent at the American Liver Foundation's 2009 Boogie Ball, which takes place at the ballroom at Ameristar Casino. Get ready to buck up, though -- tickets are $200. Still, it goes to a good cause. Learn more at the ALF site

We've covered the Pointer Sisters twice now on the Hump Day Slow Jam of the Week: the sly, come-hither grooves of "Slow Hand" and the funky, celebratory "Yes We Can Can." But the hits don't stop there - the trio covered Bruce Springsteen's "Fire," ingnited an imaginary dance craze with "Neutron Dance" and hit paydirt with "I'm So Excited." Enjoy the clip for "He's So Shy" below:
