Raglani's Van Broken Into After No Fun Fest in Brooklyn, Rest of Tour Cancelled

Posted By on Sun, May 17, 2009 at 5:33 PM

Terrible news out of New York, where local experimental artist Raglani performed at the esteemed No Fun Fest on Friday night. From a message Eric Hall left on my Facebook page:

Just to let you know, after playing No Fun Fest in NYC last night Joe Raglani's van was broken into and all of his equimpent was stolen. This includes the very expensive and rare synth he's spent years building up from modular parts and many other unique and custom devices. Needless to say, the rest of his tour has been cancelled. He'll likely need encouragement to motivate himself to begin anew. I'd hate our community to lose his output.

The very least we can do is send this link around to anyone you know in New York, to keep an eye out for this gear. (I'm sending this around to a few big websites myself.) If anyone has any photos or specifics on this gear, also send 'em my way, and I'll publish them. Having custom gear stolen is one of the worst things that can happen to a musician (just ask Sonic Youth, who couldn't play many of its songs for years after it had its gear stolen a decade ago).

[Update, Monday, 3:50 p.m. See a lost of the stolen gear below.]
