Tega, of the group
Da Camp, died last week from injuries suffered in a May 16 shooting in Wellston,
reports the
Post-Dispatch.
The 25 year-old (given name
Ortega Devon Henderson), died on Wednesday May 27 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
Da Camp is best known for their affiliations with
Nelly's crew the
St. Lunatics and have been featured on tracks with
Murphy Lee, including Murph's single "
Donkey N Da Back."
Da Camp had released several mixtapes and had plans for a full-length, debut album.
Tega
had a criminal record that included two drug charges, felony tampering
with a motor vehicle, and felony unlawful use of a weapon.

quotes Blu Bolden from Nelly and the St. Lunatics record label Derrty
Entertainment as saying, "He was an aspiring rapper, a really talented
guy. He was trying to do his artistry and get out of the streets."
