New World Spirits Doing Reunion Show in 2010

Posted By on Mon, Sep 21, 2009 at 1:33 PM

Thanks to the lovely Amy for this tip: According to bassist Mike Kociela, '90s St. Louis band New World Spirits is planning a reunion show in early 2010, hopefully at the Pageant. The band released Fortune Cookie in 1996 on the major label Universal (and you can grab it on Amazon cheap!). Kociela founded the booking/talent-buying business Entertainment St. Louis, which recently morphed into the Scorch Agency, a combination marketing/events agency. (The other partner in Scorch is Chris Buehler, a long-time local marketer for companies such as Anheuser Busch.)

Incidentally, NWS drummer Steve Hunt played drums with the Michael Schaerer Group in the earlier part of this decade -- and I'm hearing rumors that Schaerer's band (cough, Pale Divine) might also be playing in the coming months. More info if/when this fact is confirmed or debunked.
