Saturday! Post-Punks Raymilland Reunite at Off Broadway + MP3

Who's Raymilland, you might ask? Why, it's a short-lived St. Louis band doing a reunion show at Off Broadway on Saturday night. (Bunnygrunt, the Medical Tourists and fellow old-school punks the Welders are also on the bill.) The quartet existed from 1979 to 1981 and opened for some of-the-day high-profile bands (Ultravox, Magazine, Tuxedomoon) and was going to open for Joy Division in Chicago (well, until the tour was canceled due to Ian Curtis' suicide). BDR Records -- the brainchild of Matt Harnish and Jason Rerun -- is reissuing a collection of the band's early recordings. In this week's paper, I spoke to the pair about the band, the label and their desire to preserve once-forgotten St. Louis new-wave/punk tunes.
