Breaking: Deluxe Fine Food & Spirits Is Closing

Posted By on Sat, Jan 16, 2010 at 7:43 PM

Acting on a tip from Beatle Bob (hey, credit where credit's due), I just popped into the venue/restaurant and confirmed that Deluxe Fine Food & Spirits (2733 Sutton Boulevard) is closing. The bartender I talked to said that they'll be open on Tuesday and then next Saturday, Friday, January 22, for the Sarah Borges and the Broken Singles show, but then that's it. (Additionally, there's a show tonight with the Domino Kings, if you're not busy.) Opened in September 2008, the Maplewood establishment attracted some high-profile national acts (Supersuckers, Riverboat Gamblers) and booked a solid mix of twang-, rockabilly- and alt-country-leaning locals. No word yet on what's going to happen with the shows already booked; I'll keep people posted.
