Who Do *You* Want to See Nominated for a 2010 RFT Music Award?

We're just about two months away from the 2010 RFT Music Showcase, which this year is taking place on June 5 on Washington Avenue. As always, the all-day event features bands nominated for RFT music awards. (The 2009 nominees and winners are linked there.) Now, every year, people wonder how these nominees are chosen. Every year, I emphasize that it's not whoever bribes me/buys me drinks/is my best pal. I ask the RFT's writers/freelancers for their opinions, and also solicit ideas from other people in the local music community.

And yes, I ask the general public too. So! Answer me this, A to Z readers: What local band(s) have you seen in the last year or so -- a time period from roughly last summer through now -- that has/have really impressed you? Genres are unimportant. I'm just looking for musicians and bands that you've really enjoyed seeing live and/or heard good things about.

Please, no street-teaming or spamming the comments thread with the name of one band, though. We can see right through that. And be honest: Don't just nominate your friends. Nominate people whose hard work and talent deserve recognition. If you don't want to leave a comment, you can always email me directly, with "2010 RFT Music Awards" in the subject heading.
