Sex Robots Having Its LP Release Show for Nightmoves Tomorrow

Posted By on Fri, Aug 20, 2010 at 11:30 AM

This weekend, Sex Robots is finally celebrating the release of Nightmoves, the LP we told you about in April. In this week's paper, Christian Schaeffer reviewed the album. He had this to say:

The joke with Viele's bands is that the players' skills go beyond their sophomoric names and quick, three-chord punk licks; these are talented musicians playing simple songs very well. But right away on Nightmoves, his guitar chops distinguish themselves from past releases. "Cold Cold Heart" trades chugging rhythm for a surprisingly lyrical solo with gothic overtones, thanks to a chorus effect. Later, "Not Gonna Take My Heart" sounds like a snotty revision on a Modern Lovers song, by mixing a summery shuffle with a strident chorus.

Read the rest of the Sex Robots review here. As the poster above tells you, the band is celebrating Nightmoves' release with a free show at the Schlafly Tap Room tomorrow night. Bunnygrunt is also on the bill.
