The St. Louis Secret Sound Society's clues and hints have finally added up to some concrete news: a two-day music and arts festival called the Secret Sound Festival. On Friday, October 29, the event kicks off with a show at Off Broadway with So Many Dynamos, Ad Astra Arkestra and Jookabox. The next day, October 30, twenty bands will take over seven different Cherokee Street venues: Firecracker Press, Apop Records, Cranky Yellow, 2720 Cherokee, Foam, an Old Funeral Home and Mud House. That lineup includes artists such as Netherfriends, Sleepy Kitty, Theodore and Scripts N Screwz. (Full list of bands here.) That night, the Secret Sound Festival is going to present what it says is "a very special Halloween event with surprise guests." In addition to the music, Stan Chisholm will be contributing art and David Langley will decorate the stages in a "Halloween theme." Tickets for the Off Broadway show are $10 and on sale through the venue's website; tickets for the next day's festival are also $10 and are on sale on Friday, October 1, via Off Broadway's website and at Mud House or Foam.
