As that poster says, tonight at the Firebird is The Space Parlour: Live In St. Louis Series 2010 CD Release. $10 nets you a free CD and a show by Red-Headed Strangers (with members of Fattback), Old Lights, Syna So Pro and Swing Set's John Chiecksek. Along with these performers, this year's Space Parlour CD -- which is culled from live sessions that aired on Nick Acquisto's KDHX show of the same name -- also features bands such as Jumbling Towers, the Blind Eyes, Spelling Bee and Humanoids. Sample a couple of MP3s below:

MP3: Exercise, "Behave"

MP3: Medical Tourists, "Impatient Patient"

Now for the bad news: This is going to be the last Space Parlour collection released. Boo! However, Acquisto assures that there's a silver lining:

That said, local music will still have a home at KDHX and I'm happy to be a part of the new project. We will be launching a new St. Louis band showcase to feature a broad range of St. Louis artists, that will not need to necessarily fit the format of the Space Parlour. I will be involved in the booking. This new project will open the doors to many bands that I think are incredible, but don't quite fit the format. More details on this venture will be coming soon.

One door closes -- and another opens.
