Ten Artists We'd Like to See at LouFest 2011

Posted By on Tue, Dec 7, 2010 at 9:00 AM

Last week LouFest announced the dates of its second festival and immediately started selling discounted two-day passes to brave souls willing to buy without knowing the line-up in advance.

No word on when an official announcement will be made about who'll be playing. But in the meantime, it's fun to partake in some wishful thinking. We'd love to see these ten national acts on the LouFest stages this August.

Let's forget those harsh words about the many ways Weezer has jumped the shark, shall we? It looks like these consummate comeback kids are skipping St. Louis with their ultimate tour this winter: two nights per city, playing their Blue album on the first night, Pinkerton on the second. With Weezer being regulars on the summer festival circuit, and LouFest being two days, surely this must happen.

Best Coast
We got just a glimpse of Bethany Cosentino and company last September at the Gargoyle, which doesn't do them justice. With their fuzzy-warm sound, Best Coast begs to be heard while lying on a ratty blanket in the park watching the sky float by -- not constrained in a stuffy basement.
