The first potential Snowpocalypse of the year is supposedly due this weekend. Be afraid. Be very afraid. (Note: I'm being facetious.) Check out some more music shenanigans here -- and ten other notable events below.

Friday Colonel Ford Trio @ Pi, Delmar Loop Enjoy a little vintage-country flair with your pizza, courtesy of Colonel Ford Trio, featuring Dade Farrar, Gary Hunt and Jay Farrar. 9 p.m.

The Joe Krown Trio @ The Gramophone Hammond B3 organ drives this New Orleans funk/R&B trio. The perfect antidote to winter's chill. 8 p.m. $12

Bunnygrunt, Union Electric & Dana Smith @ Vintage Vinyl An art show at a record store? Why not! Long-time music scene champion Dana Smith, whose work you might have seen on local-album covers, will have his work available for sale. Bunnygrunt and the Union Electric provide the band entertainment. 7 p.m. Free.

Todd Barry @ The Firebird Read an interview with the comic here. 8 p.m. $14.

Mr. Gnome @ Firebird These sugary Cleveland noisemakers entertain late-night-owls. Bruiser Queen opens. $8. 10:30 p.m.
