Record Store Day 2011 in St. Louis: What You Need to Know About The Bands, DJs and Free Beer [Updated!]

A to Z loves Record Store Day! All of our favorite stores throw parties and hang out, celebrating records over free beer, snacks and lots of live music. (And there are exclusive Record Store Day releases to buy, too.) What could be better?

To help prepare our readers (and ourselves) for this massive day (April 16!), we've begun compiling a schedule of St. Louis-area events. This list is by no means complete just yet, and it will be updated as more stores finalize their plans.

Apop Records:

*Extended hours: open 10 a.m. to midnight *10% off all new merchandise, 20% off all used CDs *Exclusive RSD releases *Open courtyard with free photobooth, food and refreshments provided by All Sauce BBQ, New Belgium Brewing and Pabst.

Free Live music from noon to 8 p.m. with: High Life Shaved Women Spelling Bee Egg Chef Doom Town Fister Frances With Wolves Bikini Acid Catholic Guilt .e Union Electric

RSD after-party evening show with touring bands at 9 p.m.: Canadian Rifles Defect Defect Masculine Journey (local opener)
