Are they? Aren't they? Lady Gaga's been giving conflicting reports recently on the state of her relationship with longtime on-and-off beau Luc Carl. On May 27 she announced their split to MTV UK, which reports that Gaga and Carl were spotted together in NYC days later.

Around the time she announced the break-up, it was reported that her song "Judas" was inspired by Carl's betraying ways. Looking closer at the lyrics from her album Born This Way, there are lots of clues that perhaps Carl's not the man for Gaga. Or maybe we're just reading a lot into some fun dance pop.

Marry the Night Then I'll go down to the bar But I won't cry anymore I'll hold my whiskey up high Kiss the bartender twice I'm a loser

Making out with bartenders is the first sign of relationship trouble. Wishing to wed a non-human entity, such as a time of day, is the second.

Born This Way Don't hide yourself in regret Just love yourself and you're set I'm on the right track, baby I was born this way

That's right, Gaga! You deserve better than a betrayer! You love yourself enough to ditch the chump. No regrets.

Government Hooker I could be good Unless you wanna be mad I could be sex Unless you wanna hold hands I could be anything I could be everything I could be mom Unless you want to be dad

Wait a second... don't go changing just to please him. You're not his hooker. Oh, wait.

Judas I'm just a Holy Fool, oh baby he's so cruel But I'm still in love with Judas, baby I'm just a Holy Fool, oh baby he's so cruel But I'm still in love with Judas, baby

Now Gaga, we both know that's not love.

Americano I met a girl in east LA In floral shorts - as sweet as May She sang in eights in two Barrio chords We fell in love, but not in court

A nice girl might be exactly what you need.

Hair I've had enough This is my prayer That I'll die living just as free as my hair

Don't you see? Luc Carl is just a big ol' Scrunci, holding you back! To truly be free, you've got to let your hair/wig/weave fly, Baby.

Scheisse Ich schleiban austa be clair Es kumpent madre monstere, Aus-be aus-can-be flaugen, Begun be uske but-bair

That's not German. You're just making Schiesse up to please him.
