Down Is Coming To Pop's

Posted By on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 12:08 PM

New Orleans' finest Heavy Metal supergroup is coming to Pop's. The band, which comprises members of Pantera, Corrosion of Conformity, Crowbar and Eyehategod, comes to Sauget on September 17th. Tickets are $22 in advance, $25 day of show and go on sale this Saturday, July 30th, at 10 a.m. Commence head-banging.

Down is not just a vanity project by a bunch of bored successful rockers. Its debut album, NOLA, is particularly well-regarded, but there have been killers on all three of its studio efforts. A four EP project has been in the works since 2008.

Ponykiller will open the show -- the band shares a hometown with Down and promisingly lists "onanistic masturbatory excess" as an influence.
