For all the meritless bravado in today's hip hop, it takes a real MC to admit when he's jumped the shark, as Lupe Fiasco did with his latest disc Lasers. No matter, we won't fault him for that poppy misstep because he's still got that "go go gadget flow." The Chicagoan will be at the Chaifetz Arena on September 29 with The New Boyz. Old 97's frontman Rhett Miller heads to Blueberry Hill on October 18 for an all acoustic set, and the Billiken Club at Saint Louis University released it's fall skedge last week, and a couple frequent flyers will be back in town: indie darlings Vivian Girls, singer-songwriter Richard Buckner, and the guys who sound like what whiskey would say if it could talk, the Felice Brothers.
