Update, 8/27: Details have emerged. The Smashing Pumpkins' St. Louis date is October 18 and the venue is the Chaifetz Arena. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. but the presale has already started. Get in on that here.

The Smashing Pumpkins just announced a fall 2012 North American tour; the Canadian dates have been announced but so far only the U.S. cities are official. So we can tell you the band, supporting its new album Oceania, will be here sometime after October 10, but that's as close as we can get for now. Based on the information we have, late October or early November seems likely.

The tour is being handled by Live Nation, so you'll be able to check right here for tickets when the date is announced. Based on the size of the Canadian venues, the Scottrade Center seems like the most likely St. Louis host.
