Shovels and Rope - Saturday @ Off Broadway

Via Dove @ The Firebird w/ the Blind Eyes, Yankee Racers, the Educated Guess 8:00 p.m. | $8 The Blind Eyes return with a new song here. We've heard it and it's awesome, don't worry. But wait, there's more. Curt Brewer's Yankee Racers project continues its eclectic entrance to the scene, the Educated Guess has a truly insane number of members and I haven't even mentioned the headliner: The venerable Via Dove. (KM)

Sunday:

Enabler @ Fubar w/ Tropical Storm 7:00 p.m | $8/$10 Milwaukee's Enabler plays crushing hardcore punk with metal influences, releases records on the venerable Southern Lord label, and contains an ex-member of Fall Out Boy. (DH)

Matt & Kim @ The Pageant 7:00 p.m. | $20-$23 Matt & Kim's latest, Lightning is filled with more dance-worthy, upbeat indie-pop tunes that are destined to be the soundtrack to the car commercials of tomorrow. (DH)

Rhyme or Reason Reunion @ 2720 Cherokee w/ Chrissy Renick 7:00 p.m. | $10 There's more than music going on here: Fire dancers, a $100 costume contest, the Dirty Laundry Art show and on. But the main event is still the return of funk band Rhyme or Reasons -- get there early and break out that halloween costume one more time. (KM)

Propagandhi @ The Firebird 7:00 p.m. | $18 I can't make it to this show, sadly, so someone please ask Propagandhi for clarification on how to clean some things for me....that album just left me more confused; I don't think it had much to do with housekeeping at all, in retrospect. (DH)
