New Year's Eve is upon us! And in 2012 too -- it is the New Year's Eve that they said would never happen. Boy do they look dumb now.

Now that all that Mayan Calendar crap has passed, can we finally all agree that these end-of-the-world prophecies are completely stupid? I mean, that was the biggest one yet, right? I don't even think Y2K had that much hype surrounding it.

Anyway, being that the world still exists (DUH), you might find yourself wanting to celebrate with a glass a champagne or fifteen, and see some live music. Well you are in luck! We here at RFT Music have compiled a handy list of the ten best New Years Eve shows in town. Go to all of them!

((Thorlock)) w/ White Fire, Cathedral Fever, Rites of Impiety @ Fubar 8:00 p.m. | $8 Drone in the New Year with ((Thorlock))! Father Time won't be the only one wearing a robe at this show. Also, Cathedral Fever is fucking rad, and not to be missed. Go! (DH)

Schaffrin w/ Loud Mouth Soup @ Blueberry Hill 9:00 p.m | $35 $35 gets you an open bar, party favors and a champagne toast. Plus! The number two band from High Hill, Missouri. (KM)

New Year's Eve with JJ Grey & Mofro @ The Pageant 8:00 p.m. | $30-$40 I got two tickets for this thing sitting on the desk in front of me....First person to make mention of this in the comments can have them! Now let's see if anybody actually reads these things.... (DH)

Cornmeal w/ Acoustics Anonymous @ 2720 Cherokee 8:30 p.m. | $25 As per usual, Loyal Family brings a good time filled with an eclectic range of great music. Sponsored by 4 Hands Brewing Company, with a free toast at midnight! That's free alcohol, I said! (DH)

Orgone @ Old Rock House 8:00 p.m. | $12-$25 Los Angeles funk mainstay Orgone is spending New Year's Eve just a few block south of Busch -- head on down prepared to shake something. (KM)
