New Orleans jazz / funk group Galactic comes to the Pageant on Thursday, and we've got two tickets!

Mardi Gras weekend is over. Fat Tuesday is tomorrow, and then the party is gone for good this year. Or is it? Need to extend that feel-good New Orleans vibe for just a couple more days? Or maybe you forgot that this Thursday is Valentine's Day and are in need of some last minute plans? We got what you need.

To win, tell us your best / worst Valentine's Day story OR your worst / best Mardi Gras story. That's it! We will pick a winner by 5 p.m. on Wednesday. You may enter in the comments below or on our Facebook or Twitter pages -- make sure you include some way of contacting you.

RFT Music writer Ryan Wasoba had this to say about the Galactic in this 2010 show preview:

If you wanted to, you could subdivide New Orleans' musical styles endlessly, from Meters-esque funk to second-line struts to swampy blues-rock. It's easier, though, to turn on a Galactic record and hear all the influences of that city's rhythm and sway in one place. 2010's Ya-Ka-May paid tribute to Crescent City icons and up-and-comers, and the just-released Carnivale Electricos takes that idea to further outposts of Louisiana music. The instrumental funk quintet is joined on the record by No Limit soldier Mystikal, Cajun accordion maestro Steve Riley and Rebirth Brass Band trombonist Corey Henry.

Check out the video for the groups song "Hustle Up" below.
