Shakey Graves - Friday, June 14 @ Plush

Saturday (June 15):

The Blu Skies CD Release w/ The Trophy Mules @ Big Muddy 9 p.m. | $5 According to their booking agent, the Blu Skies sound like Wilco and Pink Floyd. But don't take their word for it: Find out for yourself if that sounds up your alley, and then go see their new album performed in its entirety live. (MS)

Cardiac Arrest w/ Rites of Impeity, Bastard @ Cusumano's 9 p.m. | $5 This is the Cardiac Arrest from Chicago -- the extreme metal one. Not to be confused with the local hardcore one. Make a note of it! (DH)

Kool Moe Dee @ The Sound Bar 8 p.m. | $20/$25 The official grand opening of the Sound Bar with new management and a new look is a gemini birthday bash with free food and a strictly enforced dress code. Show up in your Saturday best for tunes and free food. (MS)

Milo Greene w/ The Sun and the Sea @ The Firebird 8:30 p.m. | $12-$14 I've had that little guitar line from "1957" stuck in my head for the last ten years or so, I swear. Oh wait, that song just came out last year? Still....(DH)

St. Louis Underground Music Festival w/ Ackurate, Ciej, Bigg Iceberg, Prospect, Supreme Soul, Milli, Darris Robins, Serroge, Kay-Gee, Greze Gutta, KD Assassin @ The Demo 2 p.m. | $10-$12 Twelve hours of hip-hop, more than sixty performing artists (including a special appearance by Tef Poe) and fourteen DJs overtake Atomic Cowboy for this day-long event. Also look out for live art and live competitions including a bboy/bgirl dance battle, a producer beat battle and an emcee freestyle battle. Get the full details at slumfest.com. (MS)

Sunday (June 16):

Solid Gold w/ Marijuana Deathsquads, Polica @ The Firebird 8:30 p.m. | $12 Minneapolis invades St. Louis for this incestuous triple-threat bill. Also in these bands' family tree are artists such as Doomtree and Har Mar Superstar, so you should know to expect a good time. (DH)
