Last time Slash came to town, former RFT Music editor Kiernan Maletsky had this to say:

Slash: Undeniably fantastic guitar player, for sure. But talent alone does not let a guitar player tour the country, decade after decade, putting hundreds or thousands of people in a venue. He doesn't sing (obviously) -- last night at the Pageant his placeholder band was Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Yet somehow he's carved himself a handsome career as a celebrity shredder, and people pay good money to travel to the outskirts of St. Louis for his riffs and his top hat. And good on him for maintaining the excitement.
