This weekend, get down at the third annual Roller Disco at the Skatium, pick up a copy of Monogram Suitcase's debut release and select from a wide variety of touring acts stopping in to play some shows in town. The recommended list includes everything from Nappy Roots to Bobby Bare Jr. Read on to learn more.

Friday (May 16):

Bobby Bare Jr. w/ Brian Henneman, Kip Loui @ Off Broadway 9 p.m. | $12-$18 The younger Bobby Bare has clearly taken a shine to St. Louis, with stops at Off Broadway repeatedly in the last couple of years. And that affection is reciprocated by his St. Louis fans, who pack the house for his shows. This one should be no different. (DH)

Lyle Lovett & His Acoustic Group @ the Pageant 8 p.m. | $49.50-$69.50 Thanks to this scene from King of the Hill I can no longer hear the name "Lyle Lovett" without immediately thinking "Outta my way, rooster-boy." And that's fine. (DH)

Roller Disco w/ Funk Incorporated @ St. Louis Skatium 9:30 p.m. | $10 Here's what Roller Disco looks like. For the third year in a row, DJ Boogieman and DJ Invisible Cola bring it with one of the best and brightest -- like, colorwise -- parties on wheels. (MS)

A couple more of our recommended picks covered earlier this week include Pig Destroyer at Fubar and Bruxism No. 3 at Apop Records. Click the links to learn more.

Saturday (May 17):

ABK w/ Blaze, John Boi, Freakz R Us, Cash Reap, POW @ Pop's Nightclub 6:30 p.m. | $13-$17 Anybody Killa and Twizted are the Psychopathic-affiliated artists that have the most "cred" in juggalo circles, possibly even more so than ICP. Also, last year when I went to the Gathering of the Juggalos, ABK was driving around on a golf cart at like 5 a.m., and I saw some dude walk up to him with a huge bag of weed to show off, which ABK reached into and took a handful of, as one might with a bag of popcorn. The kid left with a lighter bag, much to his chagrin, and I laughed. You know, for whatever that's worth. (DH)
