  • Philly's Bad Side, doing creepy in the best possible way.

Are you sick of being responsible? Does it annoy you to have to follow rules or be pro-social? Do you like basements? Well, if you are a goofy, degenerate weirdo who doesn't quite fit in anywhere else, you might consider our city's hardcore/punk shows.Your underlying anger problems can be brought out to their fullest potential (in a positive way). These are my recommendations for great local and national bands that don't play five-minute (marathon!) songs or remind you about drink specials. General rule of thumb: If you have five bucks and can show up by 9 p.m., then it's go time in the pit. One, two, fuck you!

Bad Side, Life Like, RÜZ, Q at Melt September 8 9 p.m. / $5

Philadelphia's Bad Side is coming through on a Monday night just to make our riverside blood boil. Don't be a wimp just because you spent all weekend partying at that one fest -- hell, we'll all have forgotten about that by the next day anyway. What better way to shake off those decrepit, tainted brain cells than by eating some waffles and puking them out on your pals in the pit? For real though, Bad Side plays creepy, fast hardcore that will take your wallet and tell you your knives suck. Make Cherokee street get weird or else they'll be back -- they know where we live!
