Check out new releases from local groups Hands and Feet and MusicEmbryo this weekend as well as a reunion from Otto's Revenge. For more excuses to get out of the house, check out great touring acts in addition to a variety of fests: FarFetched's Brave New World festival, the Old Webster Jazz and Blues Festival, the South Grand Fall Fest and Wild Fest. Details on these events and more await right after the jump.

Friday (September 19):

Bob Mould Band w/ Cymbals Eat Guitars @ Old Rock House 8 p.m. | $22-$25 Two words: Hüsker Dü. This guy was in that band. If you don't know what that means, or that it is a big damn deal, nothing else I can say here will help you. (DH)

Brave New World w/ Edamame, Scrub, 18andCounting, Scripts 'N Screwz, Loren D, Laren Loveless, Mathias and the Pirates, Blank Generation, Subtle Aggression Monopoly, Abnormal, Centipede, MME, Black James, Kneegrowpleeeze, Ewokie Talkie @ Blank Space 8 p.m. | $5 Those unfamiliar with the FarFetched collective will find a fitting introduction at their annual festival, featuring several local artists from its roster alongside some out-of-town artists. Check out the FarFetched Bandcamp page for a primer of the label's talent, and look forward to a packed house party at Blank Space -- be sure to high-five Kaveh when you see him around. (MS)

MusicEmbryo Record Release w/ Nick Flora, the Old Souls Revival @ Foam 8:30 p.m. | $8-$10 Local ethereal rock group MusicEmbryo digitally released its EP, Sunrise, last week. Preview two tracks via Bandcamp, and head to Foam this weekend to pick up a limited edition version on CD (they look pretty snazzy)! (MS)

Nothing Shocking @ The Ready Room 8 p.m. | $10-$12 A tribute to the music of Jane's Addiction, which is criminally too often forgotten by modern music fans, this show is sure to be a spectacle, with the guy behind El Monstero's huge stage shows working this one as well. (DH)

Otto's Revenge @ Vintage Vinyl 7 p.m. | free Hometown alternative-punk rockers Otto's Revenge plays its first show in nearly twenty years preceding the upcoming re-release of its album, Gods of Love and Torture and Light. And hey -- free beer! Snatch up a copy of their local compilation, the Guide to Fast Living if you get a chance, too. Make sure you look for that hilarious old RFT logo on the back. More info via the Otto's Revenge Facebook page. (MS)

Shabazz Palaces w/ Nappy DJ Needles @ The Firebird 8 p.m. | $15-$17 From Digable Planets to today, Ishmael Butler has yet to phone it in or turn out anything short of high-quality music. Show some respect, whippersnapper. (DH)

For more options on Friday, consider checking out the Hands and Feet Album Release at the Heavy Anchor and Joe McPhee at Joe's Cafe. Just click the links to learn more about each show.
