St. Louis’ Prince Ea had achieved national prominence as a lyrical rapper and spoken-word artist long before this past week. But what happened to him yesterday is still pretty cool: He got a plug from Oprah.

The artist grabbed Oprah’s attention with his video “I Am NOT Black, You Are NOT White.” The media mogul featured Ea’s video yesterday during her show “Super Soul Sunday,” which aims to highlight thought-provoking and inspirational content—a perfect fit for Ea’s own message of love.

This SuperSoul short says it ALL. Thanks all who tuned in to #SuperSoulSunday this morning. You can watch it again at 7p ET/PT tonight.

“This visionary filmmaker challenges the judgments attached to the color of our skin and imagines the freedom to be seen for who we really are,” Oprah says in the introduction.

Ea posted the video on his YouTube page last November. It’s been viewed more than 7.5 million times since.

And this isn’t Ea’s first video to go viral. He has made a name for himself over the years, both locally and nationally, for his “Make ‘Smart’ Cool” message.

The video is about labels dividing us. Ea recites, “Labels are not you and labels are not me…who would you be if the world never gave you a label?”
