Aishah Sofey is facing backlash after her mother discovered her OnlyFans account during a Ramadan dinner.

Aishah Sofey faced backlash after a video showed her mother discovering her OnlyFans account, with the confrontation unfolding during Ramadan dinner.
In the video, Sofey’s brother shows their mother images from the account. When asked if the photos are of Sofey, she denies it repeatedly.
“Is this you?” her mother asks. “That really looks like you.”
“No, that’s not me,” Sofey responds.
Her mother presses harder, asking, “Are you sure?” Sofey then breaks down when she sees the images. “Oh my gosh, take the phone away,” she says.
When confronted about the account, Sofey attempts to explain.
“I didn’t mean to, it just happened. I just was posting pictures and I started doing good, and I get paid from it and it’s not like I do any other social media, I just have Instagram.”
Her mother then responds, “How you gonna get married? You can’t show your body like that. I do not agree with what you’re doing. That is just the most ridiculous thing. That’s haram. That’s just bad. I’m so, so, so disappointed with you.”
Sofey cries in response. “I feel like I’m such a failure.”
Some users questioned whether the video was real.
“You can literally see the mom holding back her smiles multiple times,” one commenter wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“This is the clash a lot of families are dealing with now… old values vs internet validation. You can feel the disappointment… not anger, just heartbreak,” one commenter said.
In 2025, Sofey came out as a muslim. Ramadan began in mid-February and runs through mid-March, with the month’s dates determined by sightings of the lunar crescent.
