After a particularly violent weekend that involved six separate shooting incidents across the city of St. Louis, police yesterday responded to another wave of gun violence that involved around ten different victims.
Official St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department crime reports indicate that there were four different shooting incidents that together left eight people with serious injuries.
In one case, three people were shot, but apparently no one was willing to come forward with information. In response, Police Chief Sam Dotson says, "We must do better."

That incident happened on the 4500 block of Evans Avenue in north St. Louis at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Police say a suspect wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt covering his face fired at four victims on a front porch, injuring three and missing a fourth (who, police say, was uncooperative in the investigation).
A 27-year-old male was hit in the head and is listed in critical, but stable condition. A 28-year-old male was hit in the flank and was listed in critical and unstable condition. A 29-year-old female was hit in the leg, chest and buttock and was in stable condition. They were all taken to the hospital after the incident.
Three additional shootings yesterday resulted in five more serious injuries. These victims were all hospitalized, but are expected to survive. Two were in north St. Louis and another happened in south city.
