Before he suspends his campaign for two days to visit his ailing grandmother in Hawaii, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will appear on KATZ-AM (1600 AM) and KMJM-FM (104.9 FM) at 1 p.m. today.
The appearance is billed as a "no-holds-barred" interview with the candidate, conducted by Ed Gordon, host of "Our World with Black Enterprise." Gordon has interviewed Obama before and his admiration for for him is evident in interviews.
So while the characterization of a "no-holds-barred" interview might make one think Gordon is going to turn the screws on Obama, it's not likely. It's also not Gordon's style. He is known for being affable and more community-minded than most of his national contemporaries. The interview goes against Rush Limbaugh's show (11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on KMOX.)
Also, it was reported this morning that Obama's election night party will be held in Chicago's Grant Park, home of a papal visit in 1979, which can accommodate hundreds of thousands of people.
