The Occupational Safety and Health Administration this week slapped Metal Container -- an Arnold-based can maker for Anheuser-Busch InBev -- with a $107,000 in fines for 14 violations of federal safety standards.
The OSHA crackdown follows
two amputations at the plant, in which one employee lost fingers in machinery and another lost a foot in a fork-lift mishap. Metal Container has responded by saying safety is its No. 1 concern and that it plans to appeal OSHA's assessment.
