Lambert Airport was apparently a ghost town yesterday — even though the Sunday after Thanksgiving is traditionally one of the busiest flying days of the year, Fox-2 dropped by and found the place nearly empty. Why? As reporter George Sells explained, traffic at Lambert dropped 37 percent between 2003 and 2013. Only Pittsburgh saw a greater decline during that time period.
But celeb watchers would still have flown away from Lambert satisfied yesterday. Conducting man-on-the-street interviews (or is that man-in-the-terminal interviews?), Fox-2 happened upon none other than Andy Cohen — the Bravo exec turned Watch What Happens Live star/author.
The St. Louis native, God bless him, was as engaging at the airport as he is on his talk show. (Seriously, who looks that good, much less that cheerful, while flying home?)
"This is hilarious," Cohen told Fox-2. "This used to be a major destination. This used to be a major port. Where are all the people?"
He adds, "You could roll a couple bowling balls through here and not hit anybody."
