Awesome Photos From That Crazy Storm This Afternoon

Torrential rains, thunder and lightning and sharp winds have knocked power out for more than 100,000 people in the St. Louis area. Motorists are sitting at intersections without traffic lights, snarling roadways. Trees are down everywhere, to much the same effect. Now even MoDOT — not one to spook easily — has announced it's postponing the scheduled closure of the ramp from northbound I-55 to westbound I-44 in St. Louis city to accommodate this afternoon's gnarly weather. This afternoon's storm, suffice it to say, has been a doozy.

But enough about the inconvenience: How 'bout those Instagram shots?

Let's face it, the bigger the storm, the better the photos — and even though it's still raining, we thought it couldn't hurt to show off some of the best of your weather shots. What better way to waste time at your desk before you head out in the storm-drenched night than seeing how wet and wild it is out there?
