But surely he can turn his lonely eyes to the adoring liberal St. Louis media? Right? Ennnnh....here's Bill McClellan in the Post-Disptach this morning:
Welcome to St. Louis, Mr. President. I'm a supporter. I also believe we need to reform the health care system, and I hope you fail in your efforts to do so.[Click here for sound effect]. It's the no-bill-is-better-than-a-bad-bill argument: change in health care, writes McClellan, should be "fundamental," not a "tinkering around the edges." And even if the overhaul bill gets pushed through, the columnist says, everybody's health insurance premiums will go up anyway and Obama will be blamed.
Even our comparatively moderate Democrats have jumped ship. And we're famously a bellwether state! Good luck out there, Mr. President.
