On Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at around 12:05 AM, the second victim, a 21-year-old female stated a suspect approached her on foot near the area of Chambers and Monarch. He, too, announced he had a gun, walked her behind an abandoned house and raped her.
In both cases the suspect fled on foot.
Commenting on Reed's arrest today, St. Louis County Police Chief Timothy Fitch stated:
"I commend the actions of the officers in the North County Precinct and detectives from the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Crime Scene Unit who were able to identify and apprehend a suspect. Their dedication and investigation skills led to the removal of a predator from our streets."
